Photos and Video of Camden and Isaac Playing Together

These are some cute shots of Camden and Isaac playing together. Michael had the day off work and went to volunteer in Kolby and Eli’s preschool class, so after letting Camden and Isaac play in the bathtub, I got them dressed and combed their hair. Camden wanted his hair parted and combed over to the side like Isaac’s – which made him look so different than he looks when we do his hair normally. I could actually see a resemblance between Camden and my brother, Matthew, when he was little, with Camden’s hair combed this way. I grabbed the camera, and had fun following the boys around and shooting pictures and video until Daddy and big brothers got home. I think that some of these video clips are so cute: Camden “dancing” (running around the room in circles and bobbing his head), Isaac walking (he is even fasted and more sturdy on his feet now than when I took these), Camden and Isaac playing together, and Isaac “walking” on his knees.

Odds and Ends

So, here are some random photos and video clips. The pictures are of Camden reading his new “family book” that I had updated the photos in, Isaac walking with the help of Grandma Faun, Eli being silly at dinnertime, and Kolby showing us his piano books on the day he started piano lessons. The videos are just some fun ones: Camden and Eli having fun running circles around the dining room table, Eli with his contagious laugh (he thought it was hilarious to look away from the video camera every time I tried to record him laughing), and one that shows how fast Isaac can crawl and how Kolby has recently decided that it is really cute to play with Isaac. They’re all pretty fun!

Isaac Really Taking Some Steps

So, Isaac had taken a step here and there since we returned from San Diego, but on October 20th after naps he took three steps across the room and got to the wall without falling down. So I pulled out the camera, determined to catch his new skill on video – this is the best that I got, but he really did take three steps in a row! He has only taken two or three steps since at a time then, but I figure that it won’t be too long before he really starts walking around.

Walking on the Jordan River Parkway

The day after we got back from San Diego Michael had a day off of work and we took a break from unpacking and all the things that had to be done around the house to take the boys on a walk on the Jordan River Parkway after their naps. It was nice to get out of the house, to spend time together as a family, and to enjoy that uncommonly warm Fall day. (Oh, and I think this is a decent "pregnant picture" of me -- I know, usually the pregnant pictures people take are from the side, but you can see my belly well enough on this front shot without me turning sideways). :)

Isaac not quite taking his first step

Isaac kept standing up and then moving his foot like he was going to take a step, especially over our last week down in San Diego. We thought he might do it there, but he decided to wait until we got back home to Daddy before taking his first real steps.

A Really Cool Frog

While we were in San Diego, my mom and I happened upon a cute little park in 4S Ranch right behind the library. It had pretty fountains and a "river," but the best part was this frog statue that squirts water out of its mouth when you push a button. It wasn't long before Kolby and Eli were soaked (and yes, in that picture of them with their feet in the water their shoes are still on), but honestly I didn't mind. Oh, to play in the water outside in January and not get frostbite . . .

Camden Walking

So, Camden finally started walking on Thursday (he took a step almost a month ago, but hasn’t done much more until now). He started walking exactly one week before his first birthday. He just walked across the room a few times, and we were able to catch it on video. (Now I have some hope that he will be really walking on his own in the next month or so, so that I won’t have to carry two babies all the time).

Big Feet!

Camden isn't walking yet, and it has been really warm so far this summer, so he never wears shoes. Today, however, it was rainy and a kind of cool outside, so I decided to put shoes on him for church. I pulled out the storage bin from the closet with little boy's shoes, socks, hats, etc. and pulled out the shoes that Kolby and Eli both wore when they were starting to walk (they are the only shoes in the bin that don't really look worn because the kids were young enough that they didn't walk much outside in them yet). So, I thought they might be a little too big for Camden, but decided to try anyway. I was surprised when I couldn't get them on his feet. Michael tried and finally got one of the shoes on, but it made Camden cry it was so tight, so we took it off and put the shoes away in the closet again. I guess we will have to go buy Camden some new shoes in the next few months (when he will hopefully be starting to walk). But at least I know for now that there's no way he will fit into a size 3 shoe.
