Bread, bread, bread

This was my grand accomplishment for yesterday: bread. There’s an 11 year old girl from church who is trying to gain experience helping with kids before she starts babysitting, so I had her come over to play with the boys so I could make bread without any distractions (and without feeling guilty for banishing them to the backyard and ignoring them for a few hours). So, after 3½ hours, I had 18 loaves of bread (well, I had 12 loaves finished, and the last batch was in the oven by then), and I had ground the wheat and measured all the dry ingredients except the yeast into freezer bags so they’re all ready for the next 4 batches of bread. Now, I definitely won’t get this done very often, but it felt nice when I was all finished. I figured we could keep some out to eat now and freeze the rest and that way we can enjoy healthy homemade bread without having to make it every week, at least for a few weeks.

Wow! That's a lot of bread to make in one day, but how nice to be able to pull out a home-made loaf of bread from the freezer whenever you want :)
