The 24th of July

On the 24th of July we went to the Pioneer Day parade. The highlight of the parade for the boys was that President Monson drove by in a car -- Kolby and Eli missed seeing him the first time, so we hurried down the street further so they could see him again as his car passed by. After the parade we stopped at an aviary in the park near where our cars were parked. There was a very cute little baby flamingo (although you can't make it out very well in this picture), and the boys enjoyed seeing all the birds there, although it was very hot and we were all tired out by the time we got home that day.

Feeding the Birds

We went to Sugarhouse Park in Salt Lake for a little family dinner Sunday evening to celebrate Grandma Bradshaw’s birthday. When we realized that the family was setting everything up just a few feet from the lake, we knew it would be hard to keep the kids dry. Camden stepped in first, and then slipped and fell in up to his neck (then he was walking around in just a diaper for the rest of the evening). Kolby later fell in when he was trying to throw bread to feed the birds (and he was walking around in his shirt and boxers the rest of the night). And later Camden fell in again (I think this time may have been an accident) while he was trying to feed the birds. Michael caught this last fall on tape. It was an eventful night and several of the family members thanked us for providing the entertainment for the evening. Happy Birthday, Grandma!
