This afternoon we went for a short bouldering hike. I've always wanted to stop on the side of the road that leads up from Poway toward Ramona and find a way to get to the cool rocks you can see from the road. It took a little trial and error to find an ok place to park, but we finally found a place. We headed down the trail, and shortly came to a really cool mostly-dry stream bed littered with huge boulders and totally under the cover of tall oak trees.
After a while we continued down the trail and headed up into more desert-like surroundings, with old dried up yucca plants and big boulders you could hike up.
We didn't have time to stay for too long today, but we'll definitely have to check this place out again.
