Then we finished Michael’s vacation week up with a 2 night camping trip to Watkin’s Glen, which is less than 2 hours from here. We went with a few friends: the Silvas, Baxters, Cases, and Stevensons. The highlight of the trip was hiking up the Watkin’s Glen gorge. I had been there with my grandmother when I was 13, and my memories of the cool waterfalls, stone steps, and bridges didn’t disappoint me – that is one place I wanted to take Michael and the boys since we found out we were moving here, so I’m so glad that we got to go there, and that it was just as cool as I had remembered. I think the best thing about it was the cool steps and bridges, all made out of stone and cut into the side of the gorge, that went up alongside the river. It ended up being a decent walk to go to the top of the gorge and then all the way back again with 13 little kids and babies in tow, but was worth it.
(I don’t want to bore everyone with the many pictures I got of the river, falls,
and bridges, but I did choose my most favorite shots to share).

I love the picture of you two with the five children! I think I might save a copy of it for my own. This place looks so beautiful.
