Kolby's primary talk

Kolby was asked to give a short talk again in primary tomorrow. The topic from his talk was taken from the first Article of Faith, "I believe in God the Eternal Father, and in his son Jesus Christ." He's getting pretty good at this, this being his second talk in the last two or three months. I prompted him with some of the wording to make it easier to understand, but he didn't need much help with what to say. They also ask the kids to share their testimony at the end of the talk, so I had him do that at home to practice and wrote down what he said, so he may or may not say something a little different from that in church tomorrow:

"We believe in God the Eternal Father, and in his son Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Ghost.” That is the first Article of Faith. It means that members of the church believe in God, Jesus, and the Holy Ghost.

It also tells us that Jesus is Heavenly Father’s son. We are all children of God. So, if we are children of God and Jesus Christ is Heavenly Father’s son, then Jesus is our older brother. I love my mom and dad and my little brothers. I want to be with my family forever. My parents love me and my brothers. I love Heavenly Father and Jesus. Heavenly Father and Jesus love me because they are like my family.

And the first Article of Faith also says that God is eternal – eternal means that he will live forever. I want to be with my family forever. I also want to live with Heavenly Father and Jesus.Heavenly Father is eternal, and we can live forever with Heavenly Father and Jesus and our family if we go to the temple and choose the right every day.

I will choose the right now and when I’m big. And I will go to the temple when I grow up. I will be able to live with Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ.

I’d like to bear my testimony that I know this church is true. I like to learn new things about Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father in my classroom. I know the scriptures are about the prophets. We have a prophet, his name is Thomas S. Monson. He tells us about Jesus and Heavenly Father. In the name of Jesus Christ, amen."

Kolby, I am so proud of you. You did a good job to think of what to say in your talk. I'm sure you gave it well, too.

I love you a lot and I want to live with you and your family forever.

Love,

Grandma Faun
