No More Overnight Call!

Well, we hit a big milestone yesterday! Michael had his last official overnight call of his transitional year here in Utah!!! On Monday he starts dermatopathology, then the next month he will be working with a surgeon who works with skin cancers and tumors, and the following month he will get to do his dermatology rotation. Then, in June, he will have his last rotation in internal medicine (which won’t be quite as nice a schedule as the preceding three months, but at least he won’t have to be at the hospital overnight). Then we will be heading out to New York, when Michael will have orientation July 1st and then officially start his dermatology residency on July 2nd. I didn’t realize that we only had four months left here until Michael mentioned that earlier this week. Looking back on it, this year has gone by pretty quickly.

oh...i've got a photo on file in provo at the dermatology clinic/school...from back in 2000-01 or so...i got sunburned in spring city, utah and my face swelled up to a gigantic size. they made me wait for 2 hrs (not fun) and the poor doc that saw me first said "um let me get the dermatologist" and gone in two seconds and another 30 minutes later...LOL ( i can laugh now) and they come in saying "you know what you have" (please don't ever say to a patient, strikes fear and more crying)...and low and behold I'm allergic to the sun, its itchy, it hurts and i swell like a sumo, but only in my face...photodermatitis or something! can't get burned! anyway, just a fun story! smiles!! they snapped photos after i gave permission...no one could recognize me even if they saw that photo series. the dermatologist was funny, very excited about being able to get photos.

Wow, congrats! That will be so nice for your family... It's amazing how fast the time has gone by since your move to Utah (for me at least!) Now you and the O'Neils will be switching places!
