Fathers and Sons Camping Trip

Michael was very disappointed a couple of weeks ago when he found out that his trauma surgery rotation had him scheduled for a 30-hour shift on Saturday, because he had been looking forward to taking the boys to the annual church Fathers and Sons Camping Trip that went from Friday evening through Saturday. But on Friday afternoon he came up with the idea of taking the boys up to the campground just for the evening, and then returning home that night. I thought that was pretty admirable of him, since that would mean that he wouldn’t be able to get to bed early and get a good rest before he had to be at the hospital the next morning for his long call day.

So, after dinner they drove up to the campground in Menomonee Falls and Michael said that they had lots of fun. When they got there, they walked down to the lake and took some pictures and then it started to rain. They all went into Tyce's tent with Tyce and Nathan, along with Matt Vernon and his son Isaac, to wait and see if the rain would let up, but it poured for a long time. Michael said that there were still others outside around a big bonfire, but they spent the rest of the time playing in the tent, because it was too wet outside for the little boys. They came home late, and Michael carried each of the sleeping boys in from the car and put them in their beds. It was nice that he was able to take them and that they had fun. What a great dad!
