Happy Birthday Mom!

Today was my mom's birthday and I spent the whole day with her. We had brunch in La Jolla with my brother Aaron and walked down to the beach to dip our feet in the water. The waves were a very pretty turqoise color, and there were sea lions lounging around all over the little beach there. Most of the sea lions were sleeping, but there was a mom & a pup playing in the waves. After we dropped Aaron off we went and spent the day in Julian -- a new tradition that we started last year, to go walk through all the fun little antique shops up there and then get the best Julian apple pie in town at Apple Alley: the carmel pecan apple pie with the cinnamon ice cream, so yummy!  And tonight we heard about a good deal on tickets to a musical performed at an outdoor amphitheater, so we're headed to do that now. Fun day!
