"Book of Mormon Cake"

The other night the boys did their monthly cooking night, where they look up recipes and make a menu for a main dish, side dish, and desert for dinner, and then they buy the ingredients (while trying not to show me what they're getting because it's a surprise). They come home and cook the food, serve it to us (we're supposed to be the "judges," like on the cooking show, Chopped, that they like to watch at my parents' house sometimes), and they make enough for themselves for dinner too. It's great!

We told the boys that the missionaries from our church were coming over for dinner on Monday, so they'd need to make enough food for them too.  So we started the meal with a garbanzo bean dip and assorted vegetables, then had stuffed peppers, followed by "Book of Mormon Cake."  I had no idea they were making that for dessert -- I think Kolby came up with the idea.  They made a cake to look like the Book of Mormon, a book of scriptures similar to the Bible. Funny kids. The missionaries thought it was very creative.  :)
