Tannery Creek Falls

We were pleased to have a couple more sunny Saturdays in September before Fall came, and we took advantage of the nice weather and fit in two more day trips to waterfalls we hadn’t gone to before.  The first one was Tannery Creek Falls in Naples NY (just down the street from one of our favorites falls, Grimes Glen.  Tannery Creek had fewer hikers, but I think the waterfalls were just as cool – there were several smaller falls, and then the last one seemed as large, or larger than, the ones at Grimes Glenn).  The wading was fun, a couple parts of the hike were a little tougher than just wading through the water, but nothing too difficult for a family with a bunch of little kids.  I just wish we had taken Brax with us – there were websites that said it was too difficult of a hike to take a dog, but I think we passed about 3 other dogs along the way with their owners.  Oh well.  It was a fun hike, we got several really cute pictures of the boys, Michael fell and hurt his arm but it ended up not being too bad, and we tried our first ever grape pie on the way home (Naples has a lot of vineyards and there were several signs up for grape pies, so we just had to give it a try.  It was different than I expected – more the texture of blueberry pie filling – I was told they peel each grape for a pie.  Anyway, we liked it).  It ended up being a very nice day.
