Barnes Creek Falls

We hit Barnes Creek Falls in Canandaigua as our last waterfall hike of the year.  It was a nice hike, although the water flow was pretty low in some parts of the creek – but it was fine at the falls themselves.  The temperature had dropped 10 degrees since our hike the previous weekend, so that made it a lot cooler under the cover of all the trees, but it was cold, just not hot out.  The rock along the creekbed there was different than all the other waterfall hikes we’ve been to around here – nothing especially special, just different formations and stuff.  It was a hike along a small creek most of the way, with the two waterfalls not far from each other at the end of the hike.  The first falls that we came to were fun, because the boys could slide down the smooth rocks.  We had to do a little climbing to get up to the next falls, but nothing too serious.  It was a nice little hike.
