Photobook

So, I realized that I wrote a post about the photobook I made with pictures of the boys about a week ago, but I forgot about it when all the family came into town, so here it is:

I just had to thank Mel and Debbie for letting me know about that free photo book promotion that the Snapfish website was putting on last week. I decided to make a ‘Brothers’ book with just pictures that had at least 2 of my boys in them (this helped me narrow the pictures down a little bit, because originally I was thinking of just doing a book with all my favorite family photos, but then I was finding lots of photos with Michael and I and the boys and their grandparents and other relatives and I was having a hard time just picking the right number of photos to fit into a 20 page book). So, I ordered the book a few days ago and am looking forward to receiving it in the mail. I was really pleased with how it turned out. (The only thing that I was disappointed with was the picture on the cover of the book – I wanted it to be a picture that filled the entire cover, but the one I had said it wasn’t high enough resolution for that, and I just didn’t want to take all the time to re-scan and clean up the photo from the original print again, so I decided on a layout for the cover with a smaller photo, but I still think it’ll look nice). Here are all the pages:

Feels Like Home

So, I got the new picture of the boys in a frame and set it up on top my computer armoire next to the tile sign that I made for an enrichment activity a few months ago. I had to take a picture, just because it made it feel a little more like home to have up some decent decorations in here.

Bear Lake Trip

So, after we got a little settled in here in Utah, we got to go on a really fun trip with Faith and Tyce to Tyce’ grandmother’s cabin in Bear Lake. The first day we went on a little hike and the next day we tried to go swimming, although it ended up being rather cold and rainy so we ended up playing games for most of the day. Then on the third morning we woke up to an inch of snow on the ground (yes, it is June!). And even though I was rather cold, it was a very fun trip. We are looking forward to many fun trips with you guys in the future!

The Pod

Michael just took a couple of pictures of our “pod” that we packed up with our stuff for Utah. We didn’t think to take a picture of the New York one. They aren’t very big, are they? (They were about 6 by 7 feet). Can you believe we got all of our things into two of these? We just barely made it all fit, but it worked. And I bet you wouldn’t believe that the New York pod was even more full than this one – we ended up locking one of the doors shut and filling up the spaces right up to that door with little things, then closing the second door. But we were really glad that we made everything fit into the two pods, since it saved us a lot of money not to have to move and store a third one.

Grandma Bev

Also on our move, after stopping in Nauvoo we drove down to Kansas City, Missouri to visit my Grandma Bev. It was good to see her again, and to talk about genealogy together. We had a lot of fun, and the boys especially enjoyed hearing her stories that she used to tell us about “Freckles” the squirrel. Thanks, Grandma!
