Pumpkin Patch

While Kolby was on his fishing trip with Papa, Nana accompanied us on our trip to the pumpkin patch. We went to the little patch near Lake Hodges, at The Pinery (which also sells Christmas trees in December). It's not a very large operation, but there's an actual pumpkin patch where you walk amongst the vines to find a pumpkin [unlike the sad little "pumpkin patch" we tried out last year down by the Del Mar Fairgrounds, where it was just rows of pumpkins on the blacktop in a parking lot, a few bales of hay, and mechanical kiddie rides].  This place has dirt paths, a few farm animals, a hay ride, bales of hay & an old tractor to climb on, sunflowers growing along the path, and a small corn maze that's not crowded at all & it's a good size for kids to run and play tag in for a little while.  We love this simple little place. And the boys all enjoyed picking out their pumpkins. It was an enjoyable evening.
