Isaac's church talk

One thing they do in our church that is really great is kids start giving talks and teaching about gospel topics at a young age.  Isaac, our 6 year old, was asked to prepare a short talk for the children's group at church today.  His topic for the talk was, “Jesus Christ was resurrected and I will be too.”  I asked him to tell me about Jesus' resurrection, and I typed what he said.  And then we watched a short bible video online together, https://www.lds.org/bible-videos/videos/jesus-is-laid-in-a-tomb?lang=eng, and he added some information from the video to his talk.  These bible videos are nice because they are well done, short enough for the attention span of a child, the scriptural references are listed below each video clip, and they stick to what it says in the King James version of the Bible so you don't have to worry that anything else has been added or changed from what is actually written in the Bible.  https://www.lds.org/bible-videos/?lang=eng

Anyway, I thought I'd share Isaac's talk:

Jesus Christ died for us because he loves us so much.  His sacrifice made it possible for us to live with Jesus and Heavenly Father and our families again in Heaven after we die.

When Jesus died, the people put his body in a tomb.  A tomb is like a little room made out of stone.  Then they covered up the door with a huge rock.  Then in 3 days Jesus was resurrected and angels came and moved the rock away from the door.  When women came to visit the tomb, the angels told them “Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified.  He is not here: for he is risen, as he said.” (Matthew chapter 28, verse 5).

When someone dies and is resurrected, their spirit and their body go back together again.  And a resurrected person is immortal, which means they can’t die anymore.  Jesus was the first person ever to be resurrected on earth.  Because Jesus died and was resurrected, he made it possible for all of us to be resurrected someday too.

In the name of Jesus Christ, amen.
