The boys' piano teacher, Mary Angelone, is rather like a grandmother to the kids. And a couple of weeks ago we invited her to stay for dinner after the boys' lessons were over. And the night before, a friend told me that it happened to be Mary's birthday. So that morning Kolby asked if we could make her a birthday cake. I told him I was so busy with getting everything ready for our trip that I didn't think I could do one more thing, so he decided to make her a cake. He got his homework, chores, and piano practice done early just so he could make the cake. And he did it all by himself, even the frosting. (And Mary sure was surprised when we brought out the cake after dinner). What a sweet little boy our Kolby is!
