The Garden

Our garden did pretty well this year.  Lots of tomatoes (although some of the plants were prone to rot, so we got more brown tomatoes this year than last year, but we still got lots of good ones).  The eggplants, sugar snap peas, green beans, basil, and strawberries all did well.  And this year we tried bell peppers too, along with the other sweat peppers.  And I even made a few batches of pickles from the cucumbers, which turned out nice.  We got a few zucchinis and a couple yellow squashes, but then the squash plants all wilted, just like last year.  We do have one lone butternut squash out there right now, but from the size of it I think we’ll each get a few bites once we pick it and cook it up.  I am looking forward to going to a new place and learning all about gardening in a new climate and with some different kinds of fruits and vegetables.  The first thing I’m going to do when we move into a new place is to plant some avocado trees.    :)
