The Sandbox
So, a couple of the boys combined their birthday money from grandparents this past winter to get a sandbox. The weather finally warmed up enough and we got some bags of sand. We also found a whole bag of shovels and sand toys at a garage sale for $2. Someone at another garage sale gave me several toy construction trucks for free, and the boys were in heaven. They have loved the sandbox, although it didn’t take too long before they ‘forgot’ the rules about leaving the sand in the sandbox and not putting any water in the sand. Michael has been less than excited about all the sand we find everyday on our floors, in the beds, and in the kids’ clothes, diapers, and hair. But the boys really do spend a lot of time in the sandbox, so we didn’t want to get rid of it. I decided to move the sandbox into the grass in a back corner of the yard this weekend, and so far we’ve noticed a lot less sand on the floors in the house, so maybe that will do the trick. (If all else fails, we can convert it to a kiddy pool once they dump out all the sand). But it sure is funny to see all 5 boys try to squeeze into that little sandbox with their sand toys and dump trucks.
