Well, Michael got home late Tuesday night from a 6-day trip to Miami for the annual Derm conference. While he was gone, I told him that I had found some ceiling lights for a very good deal, so I bought enough to replace all of the old light fixtures in the house, but I didn’t tell him that I had installed all 10 of the new lights while he was gone, so that was a fun surprise. The old lights were all mismatched; some with clashing lights together in the same room, and many of them were outdated and down-right ugly. We knew when we moved in that the lights would need to be updated, so it was good to find this deal, and I think the new lights look quite nice. And I think it feels a lot better to have the same style of lighting throughout the house. The only one we have left to replace now is the light above the vanity in the upstairs bathroom. Oh, and I also switched out the glass around the light bulbs in the master bedroom ceiling fan, and I think that looks quite nice now too. Although getting that many lights all wired took a while, it is nice to have that job now.

much more modern! love it.
I like the lights. We have some to put up in our house too but first I need the wiring done! We have the same scalloped ceilings. That is so weird. Our house was the first time I have seen that. When was your house built? Ours was in '76.
Yeah -- the ceilings are pretty crazy, huh? The funny thing is they only have that texture downstairs and above the stairways, but not in the bedrooms or the kitchen. Our house was built in 1972.
Ours is only in the bedrooms, kitchen and family room. We also have leave prints in our entrance way ceiling.
