The afternoon kindergarten classes at Kolby’s school had a Christmas concert too.
(Well, I guess I should say a ‘Holiday’ concert – there were two Hanukah songs [including a song about the menorah], two Kwanzaa songs, and then some other songs about snowmen and reindeer – nothing really about Christmas. On the last song, they even changed the traditional lyrics of ‘We Wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year’ to replace the words ‘We Wish you a Merry Christmas’ with other phrases about singing and dancing in the New Year. I guess that being politically correct doesn’t mean that you need to include all of the major religions, but that you need to include all of the major religions except Christianity. Ok, well I’ll get off my soap box now).
Kolby did great at his concert (and he was the cutest kid there, if I do say so myself). :) Unfortunately, Michael was back at work the week before Christmas so he wasn’t able to make it (which means I wasn’t able to get the entire concert on video, since the other boys needed my attention too, but I think I got at least part of each song recorded. Kolby smiled so big and sang all the words of each song. It was fun to watch. His brothers enjoyed it, and except for the baby who was a little grumpy during the concert, they all watched the entire thing. Afterwards there were cookies in Kolby’s classroom, and the boys had fun coloring and cutting some papers before we headed home.
