Kolby had his 6th birthday party and it was the first time we’ve had a party for any of the boys that we invited just the kids (and not their parents and siblings), and Michael and I were both pleasantly surprised at how well behaved 9 six year olds (plus Eli and Camden) could be for the entire 2 hours they were there. The kids watched a cute short ‘Wallace and Grommet’ movie we had rented while they had popcorn, then we had cake and ice cream (my newest discovery: ice cream sandwiches are so much easier and cleaner at kids’ parties than scooping ice cream and having it melt, we’ll definitely have to remember that one), opened presents, and then we brought out the big box of Legos (many of which I got at a garage sale over the summer) and all the kids built things with the Legos for the rest of the party until their parents came to pick them up. It was a great party.
