Christmas Eve

On Christmas Eve we got invited to our friends’ house for dinner, so we got a late start to our traditional story reading and traditions before bed. Kolby was asleep when we got home, and we couldn’t wake him up. But the other boys enjoyed reading our two stories that we always read together, plus a new one that Grandma Bev sent with a recording of her voice reading ‘The Night Before Christmas’ – pretty cool book. It was so late, so we saved our family game ‘from Santa’ for the next afternoon, and got the boys to bed. We put out the last of the presents under the tree – that tricycle was probably about the best wrapping job I’ve ever seen, if I do say so myself – and we left out some cookies and milk for Santa, and a little bag of reindeer food (oatmeal) that Eli brought home from preschool.
