Starting Kindergarten

Well, Kolby is at kindergarten. Yesterday was his “meet the teacher” day, so after taking some fun first day of school pictures, we all walked over to the school and took a sample bus ride around the block (did you know schoolbuses have seatbelts now?), played on the playground a while, and then met Mr. Signorelli (not Mr. “Cinderelli,” like Kolby pronounced it) and the boys got to explore the classroom. Oh, and they all picked flowers on the walk to school and proudly gave them to Mr. Signorelli when we got there – how cute! Kolby has been looking forward to kindergarten for a while now, and this morning he talked about everything he needed to do to get ready and he even wanted to eat lunch at 9:30 so he would be ready for the bus to come (at 11:50). So, he got all ready and left on the bus, and he should be starting class right about now. I’m sure he’ll do great. It’s kind of weird to have him gone – and riding the bus by himself. I’m not one of those parents who cries when their child gets on the bus, but it is weird to have him go to school by himself without me even driving or walking him there. He should be home in about 2½ hours.

What a cutie! I love those pictures. That's awesome that he would cooperate enough for a photo shoot.
