So, today was Eli’s ‘meet the teacher day’ at his new preschool. He will be going two mornings a week, starting next week. We were asked to come without any siblings today, so I asked one of the other moms who was going to a different session today to watch the boys out on the playground, and then I watched her daughter afterwards while she and her son went in. Eli met his teacher, Mrs. Freed, and he got to explore the classroom a bit before they started with circle time. He acted a little shy and wanted to stay with me, but after I talked to him a bit he did better at participating. They talked a little about their routine, including saying the Pledge of Allegiance, singing God Bless America, holding hands and practicing counting each child in the class, and assigning the kids little jobs for the day and spelling their names. There will be 5 boys and 11 girls in his class this year. Then we went to the ‘gym’ upstairs and the teacher talked to the parents while the kids played with a little playset with a slide, some balls and a basketball hoop, a seesaw, and a puppet show set. Then we went downstairs to the classroom again and the teacher read a story to the kids before we lined up to pick each of them up from the classroom. Then we went outside and played on the playground. The boys enjoyed playing with the other kids who happen to be in Eli’s preschool class and also go to our church, and they and their siblings all had fun on the playground for a while, especially climbing on a little playhouse and all crowding down an extra-wide slide all at the same time. Overall, it was a very good day (just a little rushed to get back in time for Kolby’s school bus, but that turned out ok too). And since then Eli has been asking me all afternoon when the next day is that he gets to go back to preschool, so I guess it was a sucess.

We loved this preschool, Lincoln had Mrs. Freed last year also. He had so much fun, you're in for a real treat.
