A Few House Ideas

Here are a couple of my ideas I have for the house:

First of all, we want to build a bench to sit in our “mud room” that we are planning on creating in the entrance from the garage into the house. We want it to have lots of cubbies for the kids to store their shoes, a place for everyone to sit while they are taking their shoes off before coming into the house, and hooks on the walls to hang backpacks, winter coats, scarves, etc. Since we have ideas of building this ourselves, it may not look as nice as this one, but this is the kind of thing we have in mind.

And I would really like a light fixture similar to this one for the dining room.

Although I do like our fireplace, it would be fun to eventually finish it off with some wood trim – something like this one. And I do like this paint color – it’s very similar to the color we painted our dining room.

And this picture is my inspiration for our dining room. The wainscoting will be our next project in the dining room, and then we’d eventually like to put up crown molding.
