A quick update on our cell phone . . .

I just wanted to let our family members know that we had a little mishap with the cell phone last week (when Michael accidentally knocked it off of the bathroom counter into the toilet). After the battery was removed and the phone was allowed to dry out for a few days, we were glad to see that it was working as normal. But the next day the screen went black. Since then the screen has flashed on a few times, but just for a second before turning black again. Since we are going to be switching cell phone plans in a few months, we are not planning on replacing this phone before then. So, we just wanted to let you know that our cell phone is still functioning – we can receive calls and we can make calls (except I don’t have any cell phone numbers memorized, so I have to ask Michael or look up a number if I ever want to call anyone). But also, since the screen is black, if someone calls, we can tell that we have a missed call, but we can’t see who the missed call was from. And we can’t check messages. So, if you’re having a hard time getting a hold of us, it’s not because we’re avoiding calling you back, it’s just because we don’t know it was you who called in the first place. Thanks for your patience with us until we switch over to the new phone service in a few months. :)
