Michael had his day off from work on Friday so we decided to take the boys to the Utah State Fair. We saw all sorts of farm animals, including chickens, ducks, geese, rabbits, cows, sheep, dogs, and horses. The best part, though, was probably the reptile show that we saw at the end of the afternoon. A man came out with all different sorts of snakes, lizards, turtles, and small alligators. And Kolby got picked to go up and help hold one. He and four other kids went up front and got to hold a 10 foot long albino python, and Kolby got to hold it’s head. Afterwards people got to go up and hold a smaller snake to have their pictures taken, and Michael and all the boys did it – Camden even wanted to hold it around his neck, and he didn’t get scared at all. And right before we left the fair, I took the boys and saw the horses while Michael and Eli went and rode the ferris wheel together – it was supposed to be “Eli and Daddy’s night out,” but Michael and I were going to the temple that night, so Eli and Daddy got to go on a ride together instead. Michael said that at first Eli told him that his tummy had a funny feeling inside, but that he ended up having a lot of fun on the ferris wheel, and he enjoyed telling everyone about his special ride afterwards. It was a really fun day out for all of us.
