I was very proud the other day when Michael and I made bread from scratch. I have been trying lately to become more of a cook, but have always felt more comfortable with boxes of already-measured ingredients. So, for Michael and my combined birthday and Christmas gifts this year, my mom got us a Bosch kitchen appliance that, among other things, makes it easy to mix up large batches of bread so that you can cook up several loaves at a time. This first batch of whole-wheat bread turned out better than any that I have made in the bread-maker before, and my goal is to get a few more ingredients and bread pans and to start making batches of bread on a regular basis so that we don’t have to buy any bread from the store anymore.
