First Day of School

Kolby was so excited to start preschool again today that he was bouncing off the walls this morning. I took some first-day-of-school pictures, and he had fun making lots of silly faces. He was excited to use his backpack again and to pack a treat. He has two classes that he will be taking three days a week at the YMCA: Kid’s Club and Preschool Movement. In his first class today he said that he played, cleaned up, colored, sang songs, and had snacks. Then in his class in the gym they played an animal game where they pretended to sleep on the ground when a bear come, jump over logs, run really fast from a tiger, and something that has to do with deer antlers (???) – I got all this from his reenactment after we got home. He told me all about how many girl teachers and how many boy teachers he has (he said that he doesn’t know any of his teachers’ names, even though I recognized some of them from when he went to preschool last school year. So he asked me to ask them their names for him when we go back on Wednesday). I was really glad that he was so excited, and that he walked right in and sat down as soon as we got there (which was a relief after having to leave him crying on his teacher’s lap when I dropped him off yesterday for his primary class at church).
