Boys' Party

I thought it would be fun to get all the boys from church together who are around Kolby's & Eli's ages, especially since we've had a few. We families with boys move in over the summer.  Plus the boys also wanted to invite their friends from across the street too. It was lots of fun. I watched them all gather on the in-ground trampoline as the center of the trampoline sunk down a foot or more below ground level -- I was a little nervous that someone might get bumped with that many kids on the trampoline, but luckily no one got hurt. The boys had a blast doing everything they could think to do in the back yard - trampoline games with everyone like 'crack the egg,' taking turns doing flips, trampoline games that I'm assuming they made up on the spot which included bouncing and then clucking like chickens or roaring like lions (???), basketball, football, frisbee, soccer, infection tag, hide & seek, a little parkour, and a few dog piles.  It was great: one boy asked me for our wifi password once (and I declined), and I didn't see any of the other kids using devices all night -- which is pretty good with around twenty 11 to 14 yr old boys running around the back yard for 3 hrs. Michael stopped and picked up pizzas on his way home, the boys did have some fruit, and then they roasted marshmallows over the fire pit & made s'mores. Michael and I both thought we should do this kind of thing more often (if on a smaller scale) -- it was fun and really wasn't much work for us at all since the kids spent the whole night outdoors.
