The Hill Cumorah Pageant

We quite enjoyed the Hill Cumorah Pageant this year. We went on the second night that it was showing (we were planning on going opening night, but decided that we didn’t want to try to sit through the rain with the
kids, and there ended up being great weather the second night). We got there around 8pm, and were pleased to find that we could still get a good spot to lay out our picnic blankets very near the front. We enjoyed playing chase with the boys at the base of the hill before the show started. We ran into a handful of cast members that we know from church before the show. And the boys also got to meet the actor who played Nephi in the pageant. It started around 9:15, when it got dark, and the boys did quite well, considering how late it was. Courtland had a bit of a rough time, but fell asleep after a while.
The others all sat and watched the whole thing (except Camden did fall asleep before the end). Isaac was especially excited about the part when Jesus came, (he probably thought that it really was Jesus). Then afterwards we walked back to the car, singing primary songs loudly to try to distract our boys from the noise of the protestors as we walked back to the car. And, as always, they were so organized with the parking that we got out of there in about 10 minutes, which is pretty impressive with such a huge crowd. It was a really great night. It’s fun to be here so close so we can enjoy these things.
